From the artist
Photographed in an abandoned Georgian farmhouse in Co. Longford, Ireland, The Crossing was made on St Brigid’s Day. Rooted in the traditions of Imbolc, a time of transition, renewal and the beginning of spring, the day marks a threshold between one season and the next. Moving through the doorway, the figure occupies a threshold of her own: between one space and another, without revealing where she has come from or where she is going.
