Frequently asked questions

Where are you based?

Aperio is based in County Longford, providing professional fine art giclée printing for artists and photographers throughout the Midlands and across Ireland. Prints can be collected by appointment or delivered throughout Ireland.

What is giclée printing?

Giclée is a high-quality inkjet printing method used for fine art and photographic reproduction. We print using a Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-2600 with archival pigment inks, producing excellent colour accuracy, tonal range and longevity.

What papers can I choose from?

We carry a stock selection of popular Hahnemühle fine art papers and Canon papers. We can order in any paper of your choice, ranging from professional photographic papers to museum-quality, with a choice of matt, textured, pearl and lustre surfaces. We can also recommend a paper to suit your work, intended use and budget.

Can you help me choose the right paper for my artwork or photograph?

Yes. Paper can significantly affect colour, contrast, black depth and the overall character of a print. We can discuss your work with you and recommend suitable options rather than expecting you to choose from a paper list. We can also order sample sheets and provide proofs so you can choose the best option.

Can I see a proof before my final print is made?

Yes. We can supply test proofs before producing your final print. If you're able to visit us in Ballymahon, Co. Longford, we can also review proofs with you and make adjustments where necessary. By appointment only.

Do you print work for exhibitions and limited editions?

Yes. We produce exhibition-quality prints, portfolios, limited editions and small print runs for professional artists and photographers. We can work with you to ensure consistency across an edition.

Do you provide Certificates of Authenticity for limited-edition prints?

Yes. We can supply Hahnemühle Certificates of Authenticity for limited-edition fine art prints. The Hahnemühle system uses matching numbered holograms: one is applied to the artwork and the corresponding hologram to the certificate, helping establish the authenticity and provenance of the edition.
