This Shipping Policy explains how artworks purchased through aperiogallery.com are prepared, dispatched and delivered. It forms part of Aperio's Buyer Terms of Sale and the Artist Terms.

1. Shipping costs

The price shown at checkout includes standard shipping to the selected destination unless checkout clearly states otherwise. Any optional upgraded delivery service will be shown separately before payment.

For deliveries outside the European Union, the buyer is responsible for import VAT, customs duty, clearance charges and other charges imposed by the destination country. These charges are not included unless checkout expressly states otherwise.

2. Where we deliver

Aperio sells internationally, but delivery availability may depend on the artwork, its location, size, materials and destination. The destinations available for an artwork will be shown at checkout. If delivery cannot be arranged to the address supplied, we will contact you and cancel and refund the order if no suitable alternative is agreed.

3. Dispatch and delivery times

Artworks may be dispatched directly by the artist or by another fulfilment provider acting for Aperio. The estimated dispatch or delivery period will be stated on the artwork page, in the order confirmation or in a subsequent delivery update.

Unless a different period has been agreed, delivery will take place without undue delay and no later than 30 days after the order is accepted. International delivery and customs processing can affect estimated arrival times. If delivery is delayed, please contact Aperio at info@aperiogallery.com.

4. Packaging, tracking and insurance

Artists are required to package artworks securely and professionally and to select an appropriately tracked and insured delivery service. Tracking information will be supplied when available.

A Certificate of Authenticity or other provenance documentation may be sent separately by tracked delivery for security purposes.

5. Delivery address and acceptance

You must provide a complete and accurate delivery address, telephone number and any information reasonably required by the carrier or customs authorities. Some deliveries require a signature or attendance at the delivery address.

If delivery fails because the information supplied was incorrect, no one was available to accept a delivery requiring attendance, or applicable import charges were not paid, we may charge the reasonable cost of returning or redelivering the artwork after telling you what that cost will be.

6. Risk during delivery

The artwork remains at the seller's risk until you, or a person nominated by you other than the carrier, takes physical possession of it.

7. Inspecting the delivery

Please inspect the outer packaging before accepting delivery where practicable. Where reasonably possible, photograph any visible damage before opening it, retain all packaging, and photograph the shipping labels, artwork and internal packaging as you unpack it.

If the artwork arrives damaged, defective, incomplete or materially different from its description, contact Aperio as soon as possible at info@aperiogallery.com and include your order number and photographs. Prompt notice and photographs assist with assessing the claim and pursuing the carrier or insurer, but an inability to provide photographs or a delay in notifying us does not by itself remove any statutory rights you may have.

8. Damaged or lost shipments

Do not return an artwork without contacting Aperio first. We will provide instructions. Where a return is required because the artwork arrived damaged, faulty, incomplete, materially misdescribed or otherwise did not conform to the contract, Aperio will coordinate an appropriately insured return or collection at no cost to you.

If tracking indicates that an artwork has been lost or delivery has failed, contact Aperio. We will investigate with the artist and carrier and provide the remedy required by the Buyer Terms of Sale and applicable law.

9. Contact

All delivery questions, damage reports and claims must be directed to Aperio, not to the artist or carrier:
