From the artist

Old Grey Ghost was photographed in Etosha National Park, Namibia, as I followed a procession of bull elephants towards the springs. One old bull separated from the group and walked slowly towards me, his worn tusks and deeply folded skin carrying the marks of a long life. Etosha’s elephants are known as Grey Ghosts because the white dust coats their hides. Yet this old bull was a ghost only in appearance: an ancient presence, still carrying the story of the land with him.
