From the artist
Residual Air explores the physical trace left behind after an intense emotional state begins to recede. A fragmented figure emerges through translucent washes and loose charcoal lines, appearing suspended between presence and dissolution. Areas of exposed paper allow the image to breathe, while the surrounding color behaves like an atmosphere that continues to hold the body even as its form becomes uncertain.
Created through staining, gestural drawing, layering, and erasure, the work considers emotion not simply as an internal experience, but as a force that alters the body and the space around it.
