Australian painter and artists Karen Hammat stands in a doorway wearing a black long-sleeve top, blue jeans, and red sneakers, posed in front of a textured beige stucco wall with a circular window.

From the artist

I live in one of the most beautiful parts of Australia, and the landscape and natural environment around me are a constant source of inspiration. My paintings are not intended to describe the world, but to point towards something within it that cannot easily be described. This small piece conveys the feel of a misty winter’s morning.
